One of the best sources of traffic I’ve found in the last few years is Pinterest. I’ve had a few big wins on Pinterest, but this one is my favorite.

This one in particular was great because it provided solid profit for over 7 months.

The offer I ran on Pinterest is called Miracle Sheets. It’s an antibacterial bed sheet offer that pays out $80-$90 per sale. For the middle half of 2022, I ran Miracle Sheets on Pinterest and it just worked, really really well.
The reason it worked so well is because instead of targeting people based on their “interests”, which is one of the ways to advertise on Pinterest (similar to audience targeting on FB), I targeted people based on their keywords.

I never used to think this way about advertising on pinterest until I started reading Danielle Nason’s Pinterest Articles, which I HIGHLY recommend. In one of her articles she recommends treating Pinterest like a search engine rather than a social media platform. Which totally changed the way I looked at it. 

So I created a search campaign on Pinterest targeting keywords like:
(If you’re looking at the Total CPA in the image and wondering why it’s so high, this is before I used Anytrack and only 50-60% of my conversions tracked within Pinterest. CPAs were much lower in reality.)

You can use the pinterest trends tool at https://trends.pinterest.com/ to find keywords that would work for your campaign.

Then you let it run for a week at a target CPA, and start to optimize. For me, it started out looking great, but I would periodically add new keywords I thought would work, like “Cozy Home Decor” and archive the words that were overspending with no sales. 
The Funnel, Start To Finish
The funnel was a pin with Martha Stewart holding bed sheets, that read “After testing dozens of bed sheets, these are the top 3 clear winners”.
That pin would link to a bed sheet review page. 
And that bed sheet review page would link to a detailed advertorial review of Miracle Sheets.
I Made $141,185.98 in PROFIT Over 7 Months
Over the course of about 7 months this offer delivered for me like clockwork. It was amazing. I keep spreadsheets of my daily profits every day and have for years. Here are the screenshots of those months (the first spreadsheet contains March/April/May).
Why It Worked, And Why It Stopped, How It Can Still Work
Miracle Sheets are marketed as cooling sheets, so during the hot summer months they sold really really well. I also think back in 2022 the CPC on Pinterest was much lower than it seems to be today, allowing me to have those fatter margins. 

With Pinterest, according to my ad rep, you should change out the Pins you’re advertising to avoid ad fatigue with the customers. I tried to do that but none of the pins worked that well. And as we went into the cooler months the sheets kind of fell off and became less and less profitable. 

However, I think it can work again and be more consistent if you spend at lower budgets (if you look at my spreadsheets you can see I was SPENDING), use good creatives, have a solid funnel, and target the right keywords.
